I look in the mirror and see a lifetime of struggle staring back at me. I see a body that has reaped the consequences of depression and struggle. Masking is real. When the world looks upon me they tend to only see the happiness I choose to portray, the strength, the indestructible woman that I pretend to be but in reality I am as you are flesh and blood and the burdens of this world take their toll.
Little by little we wither away but for now I focus on the day to day. I see the sunlight sparkle in my son's eyes and it gives me reason to fight.
Find your reason, your inspiration and prevail against the odds by choosing your focus and concentrating solely on the beauty that surrounds you. The more you focus the easier it will be too anchor in that spark of light; however miniscule or dim it may appear in this moment; you will allow it to propagate by pure intention. Crusade for the light within because when you look in the mirror you also see your worth! Golden, sparkly and magnificent!
I love you guys. Sometimes we must look deeper into our struggles, witness our pain and find beauty in the depth of our shadow.
